Our Values

Posted on: 23 March 2021

We recently undertook an exercise to review our company values, although we will always have ‘Trust the experts’ as part of the CGT DNA, we felt a fresh update for 2022 could tell the story more about what values the Directors and the team at CGT really believe in. Our strong core values underpin everything we do, and so its important they are communicated clearly.

In order to review these, MD Angharad arranged for a focus group of staff to meet to discuss all of the values that the team felt reflected the company. This was a cross section of staff, from different levels and across different departments. Following a lively debate and discussion, the focus group settled on three words which they felt really described what the company believes in, and what its like to be a part of the team here at CGT. These words are reflected in the image above, they have been chosen for the following reasons;

Family – started by and still owned by a family, there are many members of different families working at the company. We like to think of ourselves as one big family, and we see our tenants, landlords, vendors, buyers and suppliers as all extensions of this family. We aim to never lose this family approach and we promise to treat everyone like they are extensions of our family with the same care, enthusiasm and attention.

Innovative – we like to be leaders at CGT rather than followers, this feeds down into our processes, systems and technology that we use in order to ensure the best customer experience every time.

Passionate – the team at CGT truly are passionate about what we do, we want to not only be the best but also the most knowledgeable about our industry and our local area. We are ARLA Propertymark members (our MD is the Vice President of the organisation) and we provide training to all staff in order to achieve their property qualifications. We know how important it is that we understand the many complex pieces of lettings legislation to keep our tenants, landlords, vendors and buyers safe. We also pay for all qualified staff to be members of ARLA Propertymark and support staff through their professional development. Along with this, we are passionate advocates of buying local and staying local, we aim to never lose this ‘local’ feeling from CGT.

Our values have been built into our monthly one to one forms to ensure staff are upholding these every month, they are part of our recruitment process to ensure we only hire new staff who share values such as ours and finally, these values will underpin every single decision we make as a company moving forward.

Finally, we have set our mission statement for the company, we aim to provide ‘The number one property solution to all in Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas’. The reason we display all of this on our website and in our offices? We want our clients to hold us accountable to these values and mission statement every single day.
